Why the Event?

Gratitude is one of the most important skills a person can learn and given the recent COVID-19 pandemic, global natural disasters and other current events, there is no better time to come together as humans and reflect on what we do have to be GRATEFUL FOR. 

The great news? 
It doesn't matter if you are a 4 year old or a 104 year old GRATITUDE can be practised...

And what an experience for your students. Being part of a classroom with 1000's of other students from different parts of the world, all practising gratitude together.

The lesson will be from the Growing With Gratitude - 5 Habits of Happiness Curriculum, which focuses on skills of gratitude, kindness, empathy, positive reflection and serving others.

You will be emailed the event link and lesson resources before the session. To join, you will simply click on the link at the event time & please be sure you have the resources ready to go.

Ideally we'd like you to be in your classroom, rather than in a big common area with multiple classes.

  • What platform will the lessons be on? Microsoft Teams Live Events. If you are using a laptop or PC, you will just need to click the link. If you will be using an iPad, you will need to download the Microsoft Teams app.
  • Is Microsoft Teams easy to use? Yes, very easy. At lesson time simply click on a link provided. 
  • ​How will I receive the link? It will be emailed to you.
  • ​Is an iPad or computer better? Both will work. If you are using an iPad, you will need download the Microsoft Teams app. Headphones can be worn.
  • ​I don’t really want my class to be seen? That’s totally okay. You are able to turn off your video and audio. They will still be able to see the teacher and chat, but they won’t be seen.
  • ​​What will my students need? The resources will be sent in an email with the link to the event.
  • What if technology isn’t my thing? That’s okay. Microsoft Teams is quite a simple tool to use, so we have tried to make it easy as possible. The Live Event will open 15-minutes before start time. This will enable you to be ready.
  • ​The live event will be run from Adelaide, Australia. Please be aware of your time zone:

    NSW, VIC, QLD, TAS, ACT: 2.00pm, NT: 1.30pm, WA: 12.00pm

    UAE: 8.00am (if out of school hours please still register. You will be sent a replay soon after the live event is complete)
    India, Sri Lanka: 9.30am
    China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia: 12.00pm
    Japan, South Korea 1.00pm
    New Zealand 4.00pm (if out of school hours please still register. You will be sent a replay soon after the live event is complete)

    Africa, Europe, Canada, South America & USA: Your time zones will most likely be out school hours when the event goes live, however please still register. You'll be emailed the replay straight after the live event, so you can participate the very next day.
